What helps on the first visit
Nothing is required to call. If you have them handy: what the door is doing and what it sounded like, whether it is a single or double door and roughly how old, the opener brand, a photo from inside the garage, a gate code if there is one, and, for a rental, the owner's or manager's number for the text approval. That lets the technician put the right springs and parts on the truck.
What happens next
A technician calls back with an arrival window, the same day for a stuck door. On arrival the opener is disconnected, the door is lifted by hand, the springs, cables, rollers, track, sensors and seals are checked and the opening measured if the door drags, and you get the price in writing before any work starts. For a new door or opener, a written quote good for 30 days. For a rental, the quote goes to the owner by text.
