Insurance, licensing and the law in Texas

Texas does not license garage door installers or repairers, so no license number appears here and none exists to show. The technicians who carry out work arranged through this site hold general liability and workers' compensation insurance, and the certificate is sent to you before the visit. The Texas Department of Public Safety regulates openers connected to alarm systems and systems that record or track entry; nothing of that kind is offered on this site, so that licensing does not apply to the work described here.

Who does the work

Lubbock Garage Door Tech books and manages garage door work. The repair or installation itself is performed by independent, insured garage door technicians working under the quote you approved. Which technician comes depends on the job, the address and who is available, and you are told who is coming when the appointment is set.

Approval, including by text

No work starts until you have approved the quote. For a homeowner, that is on the driveway. For a rental, commercial or farm property, the quote and photos are sent by text or email to the owner or manager you name, and a reply of yes is the approval; the technician proceeds on that reply alone. If the person who answers the door is not authorized to approve work, say so when you book.

Payment

Repairs are paid when the work is finished, at the quoted price, by card, check or bank transfer. A new door carries a deposit stated on the written quote when you approve it, with the balance due on installation. Rental and commercial accounts are invoiced to the owner or company as agreed. Financing offered through a third party is a contract between you and that lender.

Warranties

Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty and the installation carries the technician's workmanship warranty, both stated on your quote or invoice. Wear from normal use, dust, hail, vehicle impact, misuse and work done on the door afterwards by others are outside the workmanship warranty. Cosmetic matching of a replacement section to a faded door is not warranted.

Prices on this site

Dollar figures on the service and guide pages are 2026 ranges from a published garage door cost guide and are for budgeting. They are not quotes. The price you pay is the one written on your quote before work begins; a repair found during the work that was not visible beforehand is quoted separately and started only after you approve it.

Access and safety

You agree to give the technician access to the garage at the arranged time, to keep people, pets and vehicles clear of the door during the work, to disclose anything unusual about the door's wiring or structure, and, for a rental, to tell the tenant that a visit is scheduled. The technician may decline to work on a door that is unsafe to repair and will explain why.

Stuck door, snapped spring, or a sensor the dust finally beat?

A technician reaches most Lubbock addresses the same day, carries the common springs and rollers, and quotes the job on the driveway before any work. Landlords and property managers can approve by text.
